Elementary Statistics


  1. Descriptive statistics, collecting, summarizing, graphing data.
  2. Compute mean, variance, standard deviation, and relative standing of data.
  3. Fundamental probability, study of addition, multiplication, and complement rules.
  4. Probability distribution of random variables such as binomial distribution.
  5. Study of standard and nonstandard normal distribution.
  6. Study Central Limit Theorem, and its application.
  7. Use of normal distribution to approximate binomial distribution.
  8. Estimation of single parameters such as mean, proportion, variance, and standard deviation by constructing confidence interval.
  9. Hypothesis testing of single parameters such as mean, proportion, variance, and standard deviation by various methods.
  10. Hypothesis testing of two parameters such as mean, proportion, variance, and standard deviation by various methods.
  11. Study of correlation and regression, testing the correlation coefficient.
  12. Study of multinomial experiments, contingency tables, application of Chi-Square testing.
