- Review order of operations with real numbers.
- Simplify and evaluate algebraic expressions.
- Solve linear equations and inequalities.
- Solve various type of word problems using linear equations and inequalities.
- Study of exponential rules and scientific notations.
- Study of polynomials and perform operations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, divisions. Synthetic division will be visited if time permits.
- Study of linear equations in two variables, learn to graph such equations by finding intercepts and use of slope of a line.
- Study of parallel and perpendicular lines by comparing their slopes.
- Extensive studies of factoring polynomial expressions, and solving polynomial equations using the zero-product property
- Study of rational expressions, and perform operations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division with rational expressions.
- Solve rational equations and variations, and use these topics with various type of word problems.
- Solve system of linear equations with two variables by graphing, substitution, or elimination methods.
- Study of completing the square and quadratic formula and use these methods to solve quadratic equations.
- Graphing vertical parabolas and identifying intercepts, vertex, and the axis of symmetry.
